The design-build Boerne Skatepark in the Texas Hill Country started with an elementary school library packed with 75 local youth and skaters. Their input was crucial during the skatepark design process. What was everyone screaming for? The City and community of Boerne wanted a facility that showcased their historic Hill Country town. Skaters wanted a traditional street plaza layout with perfect street influenced obstacles. The resulting 8,300 square foot skatepark includes pure skate plaza terrain. Integral colored concrete ribbons representing arts, crafts and quilt work the area is known for. The Boerne Skatepark design emulates a real street plaza style setting. Features include multiple stair sets, down ledges and rails, cantilevered banks and quarter pipes. A signature “Maloof” feature from the Maloof Money Cup Contest is a central skate feature. Red and brown integral colored concrete shade structure with seating add to appealing setting within the many, large oak trees. Amenities include a restroom facility, skatepark ADA access, trash receptacles, and a lit parking lot. SPA Skateparks partnered with our friends at New Line Skateparks for the Boerne Texas Skatepark project.
