ABOUT SKATEPARK

Ararat Skatepark

Ararat Skatepark, also known as Bill Waterston Skate Park, is a substantial concrete facility on Alexandra Avenue beside Alexandra Gardens. The park features a flowing bowl system with several connected sections, hips, extensions and a spine, complemented by a street section with quarters, banks, rails, ledges and other obstacles. A large half-pipe sits alongside the main park, creating a varied setup with plenty of transition and street lines.

The original skatepark was built around 1998 before a major redevelopment transformed the facility in 2018. The redevelopment was designed by Baseplate and constructed by Independent Concrete Constructions. Baseplate's project archive confirms both the designer and builder.

After skating, you can explore Alexandra Gardens and the surrounding walking trails, or visit Ararat Gallery TAMA and discover the town's regional art and design collection.
