Located within the Zona Desportiva e de Lazer de Alijó, this compact wooden skatepark provides a straightforward street-oriented setup for the local skateboarding community. The park features a quarterpipe, funbox, curb, manual pad, handrail, flat rail and ledge, packed into a relatively small footprint.
The skatepark was built in 2015 and is notable within the history of skateboarding in the Vila Real district. Contemporary research into the region's skate facilities describes Alijó as a small street-oriented wooden park and specifically highlights its manual pad as the first of its kind in a skatepark in the Vila Real district.
Its simple modular construction reflects the type of small municipal skateparks that appeared across Portugal during the 2010s, providing smaller towns with a dedicated facility without the expense of a large concrete park.
Despite its modest size, Alijó's skatepark has an important place in the region's skateboarding infrastructure, particularly because it provided one of the first dedicated street-skating environments in the Vila Real district.
